How Parliament works – ESOL is designed specifically for beginner to intermediate level students of English as a second language (ESOL). This programme is tailored to suit the needs of your group and their level of English study or comprehension. This programme is designed for a wide range of students, from school age to adult learners.

How Parliament Works - ESOL learners begin in our Education Centre, with a discussion about some of the key concepts relating to our Parliament, including the origins, work, structure, roles within, and the impact it has on our lives.

Groups will then visit selected venues within Parliament Buildings where possible, including:

• House of Representatives (Debating Chamber)
• A select committee room
• Theatrette (Press Conference)
• Parliamentary Library

How long is the programme?

How Parliament Works is a 60-minute programme (90 minutes when the House is sitting).

Planning and booking your visit

Bookings are essential. Visit our Online Booking Portal to reserve your preferred date and time. 

The maximum group size is 35 visitors, including adults. Standard adult to student ratios apply.
